Hello dear friends! Have you missed me as much as I've missed you? I've also been missing the desire to post. What I was going to put originally was that I had been missing the time to post, but we all know I could have found the time no matter how busy I am. The truth is...the holiday season has been hectic (both in my personal and work lives) and my creative juices have been preoccupied with christmas presents, work projects, and holiday parties. But oh how I've missed you :)
Right now I'm sitting in my "hotel room" at the Rogers House in Lincoln, NE. This historical house has been converted into a quaint bed and breakfast and I'm relaxing, eating a delicious breakfast of cold pizza (I didn't want to get woken up early for their breakfast...I'm not sure that I can still apply that term to a meal being eaten at 12:30, but I'm sticking to it!).
I'm here for my second Christmas, the one with my mom's eclectic and charismatic family. At times things run a little hot at this Christmas, but I can guarantee no boredom. My goal this year was to remain positive and so far I haven't been disappointed. My favorite highlights have been: meeting and holding my 1st cousin once removed for the first time (I had to look up the name for this, but Charlotte is my cousin Betsey's daughter), listening to my sweet cousin Bella play us Fur Elise on the piano (I'm truely stunned by her talent), getting to eat pizza and talk and laugh and open presents around the tree at my aunt Lisa's (despite a sprained wrist, she was able to make a little space for us all to hang out in her amazing but often cluttered house), and having my own space to sleep and wake up in (I celebrated this on by sleeping in until 11 and dancing around the room in my PJs).
